Yesterday we received 20,000 exercise books at SALT offices in Saidi, Thondwe. The books will be distributed to students in primary and secondary schools.
During the school visits, each student hears a short Gospel presentation and receives a gift of an exercise book. Exercise books are highly prized as schools are generally very poorly resourced.
The exercise books have a clear and simple presentation of the Gospel, and over the past months close to 10,000 have been distributed in over a dozen schools.
The schools, students and even parents have expressed gratitude for this gift to students which is making an impact in their lives. One parent called brother Harold Makawa to thank him for gifting their child with an exercise book and said they wanted to know more about the Lord.
“We are always happy when we can take materials with us when visiting schools…” says brother Harold who conducts weekly school visits with sister Anna Vallance. “We’ve seen our time in schools as rewarding – an investment in eternal matters in the lives of the children. We don’t know the end result; our role is to keep sowing. We are so happy with the reception.”
SALT is grateful for the generosity of the Lord’s people which enables us to continue this outreach in Malawi.
