As you can see from the pictures, Goodson and his crew have been working apace at Saidi, with the imminence of MGO adding a little urgency.

Now that the Msasa has been re-roofed, the focus of the past few weeks has been on getting the Print Room/Office nearer to completion. Goodson & the team have also being doing a bit of work on the ground to get ready for the children’s day camp.

Joel plans to install the windows and doors during the next few days, and the building should then be ready for plastering and second-fix electrical and plumbing work.

He has also been supervising our building team as they constructed a septic tank and soak-away for the waste water system, and the team from Danforth Solar were on site last week to install the Solar PV inverter system that will power the Print Room.

We anticipate that work will resume at a slower pace when MGO is over. Although we have some projects we want to do over the next few months, these are smaller and simpler than those we’ve been busy with over the past year or so.

Planning Ahead

When Stephen was last in Malawi he had several meetings with a young Christian architect whom we have engaged to help us better to plan the way forward on the site. Jackson is working on a development plan which we hope will enable us to have a better idea of the “shape” and outline cost of what we like to do with the site. This is still at a relatively early stage, but Jackson’s involvement has already been helpful.

Early Outline of Possible Development of the Site

Land Purchase

We were recently offered additional land for sale to the south of our site. It is prime agricultural land, presently under-utilised but perfect for agricultural training and growing food for feeding programs. We bought part of what we were offered and are praying about the possibility of acquiring more of what’s on offer.

Please continue to pray that the Lord will give us wisdom as we plan for the future.
