It’s really exciting to see progress on the Msasa wa Ana.
Until now the children have been meeting in the shade of the storage containers, but these will obviously provide no shelter once the oncoming rainy season arrives.
Work began to dig the foundation in late August and progressed well with the pouring of the concrete floor slab.

Once the slab was finished we began to build the pillars which will support the roof.

Meanwhile we have also been gathering up thatch (tsekera) for the roof. This is providing much needed work for folks from many surrounding villages who are cutting the grass on a piece-work basis.

Work is also ongoing to mould the blocks for the structure’s walls. These are being formed from soil excavated from one of the three termite hills we had on-site.

Once the pillars are complete work will begin on the roof structure.
We are really looking forward to getting this completed and into commission as soon as possible. Please pray with us.
