I’m not an aviation buff, but I’m posting this wing tips picture as this is the flight Jim and I should have been taking home together. Jim’s famed for his wing tips photos 🙂

This should really be Jim’s wing tips shot

As everyone who’s been following Jim’s Malawi Minutes knows, he had to leave prematurely when Janet took very unwell on our first weekend away.

That wasn’t to be the only frustration of the trip. Last weekend I ran into serious car trouble while returning from Lilongwe to Blantyre, and the car is still laid up with a major engine problem.

The trusty Isuzu lies lifeless on the operating table

However, it would be entirely unbalanced to focus on these “negatives”. There have been so many encouragements over these past two weeks, that I have at times literally been reduced to tears as I consider the greatness of God’s grace.

The literature work in Malawi has grown from very humble beginnings to a major publishing operation, with over 1.5 million items of Gospel Literature produced in 2018.

We perceive the Lord’s hand moving to position the work for further growth in the future, and we humbly bow and praise Him.

Awesome Africa with teeming millions

As I flew South from Blantyre to Johannesburg this afternoon, I reflected on the enormous mass of humanity who need to hear the Gospel on this fascinating continent – not just Malawi, which has stolen such a big part of my heart – mtima wanga – but the many rural regions beyond.

Thanks to all who have helped us reach a few lost souls – pray for the help needed to reach even more.
